Drivers Atlas was created by a driver who has spent years travelling the back roads of the United Kingdom and Europe. The idea came from countless mornings behind the wheel: empty mountain passes at dawn, coastal roads after rain, and the small hotels that understand why you want the car parked where you can see it.

He also publishes TheContinentalMan, a fine living journal that explores travel, culture and the art of moving well through the world. That same editorial eye sits behind every route, hotel and article on Drivers Atlas.

The site exists to give something back to the driving community. Too many route planners treat a road as nothing more than distance and duration. Drivers Atlas treats the road as the reason to travel. We rank drives for their character, surface quality and scenery, then help you turn them into real journeys with overnight stops, driver friendly hotels and easy handoff to Google Maps.
